Renegades heading to the playoffs

Renegades beat Sabercats 40-18

Collegeville – The Renegades defeated the Twin Cities Sabercats 40-18 at St. John’s University.  The Renegades were lead by a powerful offense led by QB Ryan Fay and Veteran RB Michael Iverson.  Fay went 9 of 13 in the air for 193 yards and 4 TD’s.  Iverson caught one of those TD’s, and also ran one in on the ground.  Sean Hayden led the ground game with 85 yards.

The Renegades defense was also very solid led by Veteran Kyle Crozon with five solo tackles, 2 for losses, and 2 sacks.  With the help of Houston Spooner and Pat Lopez getting two fumbles, the Renegades defense running like a well oiled machine.  Defensive Coordinator, Jake Hutt has done an outstanding job this season running one of the best defenses the Renegades have ever had.

The NSFL playoffs will begin on August 6th with the Renegades in the #3 seed, they will travel to Minneapolis to battle with the South Metro Patriots.  The series was split 1-1 with the last meeting between these teams ending up with a Renegades win 14-12.  The winner will either host the league Championship or travel to Fargo.
