Invaders move to 6-0

Fargo Invaders traveled to Duluth to take on the Northland Blitz on Saturday, June 18th and made a statement, ending the game with a 64-0 win.

There was a running clock the entire game, which shortened the game to just over 1 hour.  The Fargo Invaders scored on 8 out of 15 offensive snaps.  The Invader defense only allowed a Positive Yard gain on 1 play out of 21 snaps for the Blitz; Seven 3 & Out possessions.

The Invaders defense once again showed up to the game ready to play stopping the Blitz over and over again, and the offense would come in and follow suit by scoring touchdown after touchdown in all different types of ways. The Blitz 5-wide formation led to 11 sacks, as their offense ended the game with negative 70 total yards; with the ball never leaving their territory throughout the entire game.

Most of the Invader’s possessions started within 30 yards of the end zone and made it very easy for the offense to put points up, scoring within the first 2 plays on six drives, and within 3 plays on the other two drives. Nathan King had the lone defensive touchdown for the Invaders on a scoop and score off a fumbled snap in the fourth quarter. The Invader defense ended the game with a total of 11 sacks.

Tony Stauss and Justan Taliaferro each had 2 passing Touchdowns. There were 4 different Invader receivers with a touchdown on the day, with the receiving yards leader being Legend Francois with a total of 48 yards.  CT Davis adds 2 more Rushing Touchdowns, continuing to lead the league, now with 11.  Kevin Irby & Jermaine Marcellus each scored on the ground as well.

The Invaders will take on the Granite City Renegades (4-2) at home next weekend, Saturday, June 25th at Shanley High School. For full game details, including Play-by-Play stats, go to the live game sheet.
