Collegeville – The Renegades beat the South Metro Patriots 14 – 12 in the last five minutes of the 4th Qtr.  The Renegades started out causing a turnover on the opening kickoff and capitalizing with a TD from Veteran FB, Anthony Carpenter.  The Renegades caused another turnover of the next kickoff, but were not able to get in the end zone.

The Patriots scored in the next two quarters to take a 12-6 lead heading into the 4th Qtr, but the Renegades defense gave the team new life with a stifling stop Brandon King (QB) and the Patriots offense.  The Renegades led by QB Ryan Fay charged down the field with a never ending run game led by Jonas Marshall and Sean Hayden.  By the hands of Devin Payment, Ryan Fay found Devin on a slant route in front of Patriot DB, Tevis Wilson and with out stretched arms he found the end zone.  To cap it off and take the lead, Fay found the end zone on a 2 point conversion.

With a case of déjà vu, the Renegades went into the last 3 minutes with the lead thinking it was May 15th all over again, but this time DB Veteran Kelvin Robinson Jr. picked off King in the last 70 seconds  capping a victory for the Renegades who are now 3 – 1 Overall.  The Renegades travel to Duluth this weekend to face the Northland Blitz who just came off a shutout by the Sabercats.  Kickoff is at 4 PM at Duluth Public School Stadium.
