Collegeville, MN – The Renegades hosted the West Central Broncos in their 6th Annual Armed Forces Day Classic.  The Renegades striked first with a 9 yard TD from Ryan Fay to Darrien Stegner, but the Broncos would soon strike back and hold the Renegades offense the rest of the first half.

The Broncos came out the 3rd Qtr. firing on all cylinders and drove down the field to take the lead 14 – 6, but that gave the Renegades the fuel they needed on all sides of the ball.  The Renegades defense came alive with six sacks, and three turnovers.  That gave the offense the motivation they needed with Ryan Fay leading the charge with two strikes to Devin Payment and a 25 yard TD run.  Behind the running game trio of Sean Hayden, Jonas Marshall, and Anthony Carpenter the Renegades controlled the 2nd half, and when it was all said and done the Renegades beat the Broncos 30-14 to take 2nd place in the West Division.

The Renegades will be hosting the South Metro Patriots this weekend at Collegeville.  The last time these two teams met the Patriots came back in the last 70 seconds to steal a comeback from the Renegades and now they sit on top of the East Division at 2-1, but the Renegades are on their home field this time.

The game on the 28th will be the team’s Annual Cancer Battle game with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.
