Collegeville, MN – The Granite City Renegades football team 2016 season is about to begin.  The Renegades are entering their seventh season in the Northern States Football League (NSFL).  Their first opponent (pre-season) will be National Runner Up, the St. Paul Pioneers on the 29th at 7:30 PM at Concordia.

The Renegades Coaching staff is led by Head Coach Brett Weaver with Jake Hutt running the defense, and Tommy Middagh running the team’s special teams.  This trio has been working together now for three years.  Coach Weaver stated “I’ve never felt better about the staff this team has had.”

The NSFL regular season begins on May 7th and has the Renegades traveling again to St. Paul, but this time to face the Twin Cities Sabercats.  The Renegades first home game of the season will be on May 21st as they host their rival, the West Central Broncos, in the teams annual Armed Forces Day Classic.  For more information on the Renegades and the NSFL, visit www.thensfl.org .
