Renegades have one vision

Collegeville, MN – The Granite City Renegades football team has a vision this season.   The Renegades, found by Brett & Danelle Weaver back in 2009, have had a dream to bring something special to Central MN.  That dream was to bring quality sports entertainment to the area built with local talent.  They are now the third oldest (active) semi-pro football team in MN, and with that accomplishment a new vision has been forged, and it is to win a league championship.

The Renegades have a strong core of returning players and in some key positions as well.  With 65 players signed up this season, the Renegades feel they have the right depth in the skilled positions to wear they will be more of a threat than they ever have before.  The Renegades core strength this season will be their defense.  Coached by Jake Hutt, the Renegades defense will be one built on timing and precision.  The Renegades defense will have tenured players such as Anthony Carpenter and Kelvin Robinson Jr. in the lineup, both players are All-Star caliber.

The Renegades start the regular season on May 7th facing the Twin City Sabercats, a new team to the NSFL, playing in North St. Paul at 6:00pm.  The Renegades will get tested before they face the Sabercats when they face the #6 team in the Nation, the St. Paul Pioneers. The Pioneers lost the 2015 National Championship to the Muskegon Mustangs in Dayton, FL on Jan. 16, 37-18.  The Renegades vision of a winning the NSFL Championship is clear and the path has been laid down before the team.  This will be the year of the Rise of the Renegades.
