The Mid-America Fighting Orioles started the 2015 season with a 46-0 win over the Northland Blitz. The defense stalled the Blitz’s first drive with an interception by linebacker Torey Wilson, who returned it 35 yards to set up the offence in great field position.

The Orioles also hit the turnover wall on their first drive after a red zone fumble. After that the Birdz took over and never looked back, by unleashing running back Brandon Mueller. The six year semi-pro vet finished with 9 carries for 88 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tight end Jake Brown and quarterback Jauhem Bryd  also added a touchdown to the mix.

The defense dominated, blanking the Blitz in this first of two divisional meetings. Defensive tackle M’Angelo Harris got his first sack of the season taking down Blitz quarterback Rumeal Carlton. Linebacker Terrance Davis had 1 interception and cornerback Chris Lipscomb snatched his own to end the first half. Defensive end Kirk Eggleston who had 2 sacks himself, put the nail in the coffin with a brilliant 30 yard interception for the game’s final score.
