Wolfpack fulfill longtime dream.

DULUTH, Minn—

Two years ago, a few good men decided to start an Amateur Adult Football League in the Duluth/Cloquet Area.  Today that dream becomes reality as the Great Lakes Wolf Pack begins it’s very first season with their home opener against the West Central Broncos at Public School Stadium at 4:00 p.m.

Head Coach Christopher King (Head Coach, Owner, DFO)  began with the dream, and was soon joined by Jemal Broussard (Defensive Coordinator, Owner, and CFO), and Damien LaFave (Offesnsive Coordinator , Owner, GMO).  Together the three owners have made the dream a reality!

In July of 2013, the process began. “We had to apply via application,” said Head Coach King, “We had to prove that we could meet the league requirements such as stadium, logo, website, coaching staff, players and more.”

“In October we had to give an oral and visual presentation in front the league, the league officers then voted on letting us in,” he continued, “Our Team Captain Matt Sickler and Coach Broussard did an excellent job presenting and we were unanimously voted into the Midwest Premier Football League.”

Some of the key players are local standouts QB Matt Sickler (ML/WR) , RB Gage Gusman (UMD), FS Dewey Dupuis Jr.(FDL), LB/LB Jason Wade(AlBrook). WR/K James Feltus(AlBrook), OT/DT Matt Martineau (AlBrook), LB Mace Fonoti(FDL) and OT/DT Tuitasi Fonoti (AlBrook).

“Our league allows it’s member teams to sign players to join all the way up until July 1, 2014,” concluded Coach King.  So, if any of you committed and gifted adult athletes are interested, contact Coach King.

Check out the team at Public School Stadium tonight. The matchup between the first year Wolf Pack and second Year Broncos begins at 4:00 p.m.

Admission to the games is $7.00 and $5.00 with a Military I.D. and $5.00 for Seniors. Bring a non-perishable and non-expired food donation and receive a $2.00 discount. All food donations will go to the Duluth CHUM Food Shelf Program.

CHUM of Duluth is the organization the Wolf Pack chose to donate the non-perishable and non-expired food. “We are helping our community and CHUM feed those who are in need,” said Coach King. The Great Lakes Wolf Pack would like to  thank you in advance for your CHUM Food Shelf Donation.

See you at the game!
